when cooling fan kicks in bike stalls

at running temperature of 104c, fan cuts in to cool but causes the bike to stall when at standstill and on tick over speed of about 1200revs. The only way I have been able to overcome it stalling is by opening up the throttle to increase the engine revs slightly at the point that the fan cuts in.This though is a hit or miss solution that does not fix the fundamental cause of the problem. HELP URGENTLY REQUIRED, otherwise she is a great bike.
