I am going from a CBR to either a Vtech VFR or a Tiger, and I have the same dilema. I have ridden both. The Tiger has a wonderful engine, and the screen keeps wind presure off up to the 90mph I tested it at. It is a doddle around town and in the wet due to its power deliver, consistent all the way up. I think I would fit narrower bars though. the thing is, can my reticent pillion cope with the extra lean angles. The VFR though... mmm, possible the best bike I have ever ridden and so much nicer than the pre VECH model (I used to own a 750 version and loved it). Why not by both. Ha!
