I about to buy my second tiger but the comparison to the VFR is an interesting one. I used to go riding with a friend (and my bike mechanic) who rides a VFR 800.The Tiger is obviously not as much of a road bike but in the right hands (me!) the VFR had real trouble keeping up. I dont think you would regret it, the major differences are in seat position; the Tiger is tall and wind resistance is more of an issue than on the VFR. But on the Tiger you will feel king of the road, the riding position gives you a presence over the road and more importantly excellent visibility in traffic. What I love most is it´s so torquey in any gear it pulls away. Try it - youll love it and the great thing is they hold their value like VFRs so you can afford to change your mind! In comparison to other tralies ive ridden: The Varadero is ugly and too heavy, the Africa Twin and Transalp are just slow, The Pegaso is half a tiger although an excellent bike and the BMW, well a grandad bike!
