Think you are making the mistake of believing the speedo. I don´t believe a VL125 capable of anywhere near 70mph without serious tweaking and when you tweak the Jap bikes that much they become unreliable.

The VL125 ridden by my wife with me on my Moto Guzzi the intruder is left for dead above 50 - 55.

The bike is just not designed for speed. If you want more speed buy a bigger bike Simples.
