I have checked the internet and the output on this IS 51BHP. Reference: http://groups.msn.com/SuzukiGS500Community/bikespec.msnw In the Haynes manual the Carb was increased in 2001 to get greater output, yet since then there has been only cosmetic colour changes. Hense the 2001 bike is the same as the 2003. This is a great bike to ride, very stable, great for getting through traffic and enough power to get you out of trouble without having too much to get you into trouble. No it won´t keep up with the sports bikes on the open road (if you want that get a sports bike) It will give a good showing through the lane though. The Rust is a major problem as I use this bike though all weathers, so cleanliness is a must. |
