`Check the throttle cable, if this is the original throttle cable from when the bike was originally built then you need to realize that this cable has been used for nearly 10 years. It may have started strecthing out to where when you pull the throttle all the way its not opening up all the way cause it is loose. Consider putting a new cable on it, you can order one from a Suzuki Dealership for under $20. I have owned my 01 750 for about 3 years now and when I had it stock I could open up to 180mph (with the right run through the gears), now I have some mods on it and I can walk away from most stock 1000s and the occasional busa when the rider doesnt know how to ride.
