Ok, first you need to have your keys on you. Put the passenger footpeg down on the right side of the bike. There you will see a place to put your key (same one to start it with), insert it, and turn to the right. Then you should hear some kind of click and from there you can lift your seat up, starting at the back. Once the seat is up and off the bike, you will see a little black plastic tub if you will, and you can lift that out as well. There you should see the top of the battery with the two (+,-) terminals.
