I´m considering purchasing a 2001 Suzuki Bandit 1200S. What can anyone tell me about this bike? Do you recommend it? What are its strengths, weaknesses? What should I look out for when buying besides the usual physical defects? Are there typical defects that I should be aware of?

Basically, anything you can tell me about this bike, I want to know. The bike i´m looking at has 5,000 miles and is selling for $4,000. It appears to be in good condition as far as I can see from the ad online. Does this seem like a good deal? This will be my first sport type bike. I drove a little GZ 250 while in college, and I´ve taken my dad´s 800 Intruder on a few rides, but now I´m looking for something at least 800 cc´s and a new driving experience. Would the Bandit be a good bike to ride for a 2 hour trip to the beach?
