Ummm, First is the lowest up one is neutral, then second, third, fourth and fifth. All bikes sometimes have problems going to neutral if that is the case push your bike a bit forward and it should then go (same if you stop like in fourth gear and need to shift down to first). It does not need much sometime rocking it back and forth does it.
