’97 Suzuki Bandit 1200. Fire from exhaust.

Hi All,

I have a problem:
When I start the bike it makes a huge backfire with an orange flash coming from the exhaust pipe! Sometimes this will repeat while the engine is still warming, during idle. When I raise RPM, backfire disappears. Also, if I try to ride with RPM in the 4,000 rpm range the bike stalls, so I can do slow speeds from 5,000 rpm only. Fuel consumption is about 15-17 litres per 100km.

A motorcycle service shop has been testing it for 2 days and cannot figure out why. Does anybody have some ideas or advice?
