Ugly is in the eye of the beholder. I have a 74 Guzzi V7 Sport. Probably the best looking bike I´be owned. But thye SP1000 has teken me a lot farther and immensely more comfortable. It also really carves. Funny how after a day of ripping curved pavement from coastal.valley roads can make you love a bike. Then you realize that you´e just ridden 700 miles, and fast too. What more do you want? Beside, it´s cheap.
