I ever loved big twins Guzzi. Specially, having had other Guzzi (NFalcone, V35-II, Falcone Sport). I bought it from a friend in 2001, and was rather worn. I´m adjusting the body, fortunately is not difficult in Italy to find body panels. Now I just have to paint - I tried matt black, is fine but dangerous, not easy to be seen - and I believe this will be bright ice white. Long travels, also with my wife, aren´t a problem. Often gone on highway from Milano to Roma (over 650 km) just in one journey - 6 to 7 hours with just one short stop to pee and a snack - even in the winter. Comfortable, smooth, sure to ride and stop. No vibrations, easy to reach near 200 km/h and cruise about 150 km/h, with three huge bags. Also in Italian town roads, which are not wide and designed for traffic, it behaves as a lighter and shorter bike. Only problems, mountain narrow roads and mountain turns (I´m not jet comfortable, due to the high and wide saddle, manoeuvering in non flat roads). Should be a vantage to modify the saddle profile, cutting lower and narrower near the tank. Another problem is the side stand provided stock: I put the Police type, same as California. In parking on stone and tyle, I found the central stand is difficult to lift, it grounds like glue... Regards. Giancarlo |
