1100 a good choice? |

Hi guys (and gals), I am currently a Kawasaki rider (Ninja 250 and 500) and have long thought of upgrading to an Italian bike. Today I noticed a ´97 1100 Sport up for grabs for $4500... pretty perfect condition with a few very minor scratches on the seat cowl. 5k miles... definitely a ´living room´ bike ;) I´ve only been riding a few years and was wondering your thoughs on this bike, taking into consideration maintenance, handling and speed. I like the heavy torque and am not looking to race it on the track, but want more power. I know Guzzi´s are known to come with quirks... what do you guys think of the rather heavy clutch? As a woman, I´m thinking I might have to develop my forearms a bit to operate it in the city and in traffic. And what about traffic riding? I live in Seattle but get out into the twisties as often as I can. Not going for crotch rocket, just a solid bike that will turn well and has more power than what I´m used to. Any help is much appreciated! Ciao! Svetka |
