Rear cylinder noise

I am looking at a 93 harley fatboy 1340cc with some rattle noise in the rear cylinder and leaking seals. What is the best solution to repair the rist pin or valve without spending tons of money? FYI the motor has had some modification, for sure cylinder bore, carberator, and pipes. Please advise.
