This little black beauty has become my favourite bike ever - after 25 years of riding this is saying something. I ride it most days to and from work and it is quick and nimble and light. I have an after market exhaust which has added extra poweracross the whole rev range (this is a local set of pipes from StayInTune - a mob in Portland Victoria Australia). What a difference they make to the whole running of the bike and the best thing is the extra grunt from the V-twin. The bikes seat is limited (it has that ridge half way along) - it you are long in the arm you probably won´t be able to get your bum far enough back from the tank. This could make for some uncomfortable country touring. Luckily, I am 176cm and the bike and I fit well together. I have added a factory fairing and paniers for country trips and these work very well. The slip stream hits the top of the helmet, so there is a little buffeting. The gearing is quick and short (I have got used to the false first gear and check before I take off at lights). The side stand is short and would not suit hilly areas - I have fitted the factory centre stand. This is well balanced. Thata all for now............. |
