Hello,

I bought a 2001 model in 2002 (march) new.
At the 12000 km service one pitted cam revealed and will be replaced under warranty (I hope so). In my country the road quality is less than good (or my bike have bad luck/factory worker) so the rear shock died (oil leak) and replaced under warranty (but I also replaced the new shock with a ZXR400-s rear shock: fits with some washers).
Top speed is ~198 kmph on the speedo, but I more like the touring style riding @ 110 kmph.
Mileage:
lowest: (traffic rules obeyed (60/90 kmph) 3,3-3,6 liters / 100 km
average: 4-4,5 liters / 100 km
max: maybe (with my style) 5,5-6 liters, but in my opinion it is not the bike to be thrashed for adrenaline (unlike the ZZ-R1100 or the ZX-9R). Goes well, but not flying. Good in the twisties, ´slow´ in the straights.

Ideal bike for starters who don´t know what riding style (supersport/sport touring) he/she would like when ready for 100+ horsepower.
