I own a Buell X1W Lightning with the same strange problem. After about 10 or so miles the engine starts to quit and the engine red light goes on. I took it to the dealer and they said that the bike´s computer recorded an error on the Oxigen sensor. They did not fix is since they where unable to reproduce the problem. I know it is not the baterry´s +pole touching the frame because the contacts are pointing up and not touching anything. I have noticed that the cables on the ignition switch get realy hot now a days, but have not been able to find any short on the cables.

Any ideas? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.
