Fuel pump? |

I recently bought a 2001 Buell X1 from a friend of mine. Right before I bought it he said he started the bike to make sure the battery wasn´t dead, which it wasn´t but he did hear the fuel pump run faster than usual and then totally shut off. He tried to start the bike again and the fuel pump made no sound and did not pump fuel. I know the bike does start when you spray started fluid in the the air intake but just no fuel pumps to the injectors. I was just wondering if this could be a fuse problem or the fuel pump is actually out of comission? I would not want to pay the extra to take the bike in, but If I have enought Buell enthusiasts ensuring me it is just the Fuel pump, then I will do it myself and save a few bucks. Thanks for your concern and hope to hear from you soon. Tim |
