This has got to be one of the most fun motorcycles I have ever ridden. I´ve owned the XB9S for 6 months now and have over 4000 miles on it. (Have a 1200S as well, thus the reason for lower mileage) I have not experienced any tranny or engine issues to date (knock on wood). Have added the Race Kit (exhaust, ECM and filter) and have noticed the mid-range increase and you really get the sound out of that v twin. I have also done some riding on the XB9R, I prefer the more upright positioning of the Lightning. You can´t beat it for the twisties. If you can demo at a local dealer I highly recommend it. I think you´ll fall for it.
