I road tested a new Simplex in 1956 when they were current.
The biggest problem found was weak performance of the engine. The actual power seemed much lower than its rating. The auto belt drive seemed rugged
and durable . Brakes were ok for the potential speed. Comfort level was high for a lightweight. I did not buy that one. Instead , I found one with a bad engine and installed a Harley
