With Showa UD forks,the suspension budget must have been used up,because the rear shock doesn´t work.I don´t mean it works badly.Fear is a feeling redefined when cornering at over 20 mph on anything other than a mirror smooth surface,as the rear end skips playfully sideways intent on acquanting itself more intimately with the kerb/oncoming traffic.People admire the bike on the street-but then they haven´t ridden it.
My XRX has done 8,000 km from new.In that time,these are the problems it´s had;
loose rear spokes(one has now broken)
loose front spokes
steering bearings binding
headlight too high(a design fault means it will not point downwards for any length of time)
failed engine sprocket oil seal
play in rear wheel bearings
engine cuts out irregularly at full power
These things could be fixed by the dealer-but,apart from the front spokes,they haven´t been.Which is a real shame,as I think that with better quality control or half-decent dealer support & a different rear shock,this could be a good bike.
I would like to hear your comments please.
