My dad John road a VL in the 30´s and 40´s with the Victor Mc Laglen Motor Corps 21 Man Stunt and Drill Team out of Los Angeles. I don´t know how old I was, but my first taste of speed came from that VL as daddy went through the gears with that side shifter. Being the largest guy in the VMMC, his bike became the vehicle to carry all 21 around the LA Colosseum and other stadiums in their shows, not to mention 4 way cross-overs at 50 mph, seat standing, etc. Dad road his VL from LA to Charlotte, NC and back, by himself! Sadly, his riding days ended when a collision with a car, penned his left leg between the crash bar and the engine, crippling him badly for the rest of his life. But his love for Harley´s never stopped! I thought someone out there might like this memory of mine!
