This sounds very much like a voltage regulator rectifier problem - a common problem with Japanese bikes; especially the high revving ones. They essentially burn out due to ineffectual cooling fins on them and you can locate it near the back of the bike under the seat area. The next time you go to the bike shop; have them check your voltage regulator rectifier (a very simple test). You may need to buy a new one and bike shops usually carry them or at least can order one. Also, check the internet: http://www.electrexusa.com/electrex_regulators_Honda.html. Figure about $150 to $175 for a new one. Best Regards, John Meyer |
