I have owned my T-Sport for 9 years and I have not experienced any of what Mike Grove has stated. I feel badly for him about his issues with the bike. I have been riding for 27 years and this has been my best bike yet. I have not felt the need to get a newer bike b/c Harley isn´t making any bike better than this and while I´d love to have some other makes as well, don´t have that kind of money. My engine has been rock solid and does not make this clatter. I did upgrade to the 1550 kit and dropped in some SE 203 cams, 42 Mikuni and V&H pro pipe which really woke up the motor to 90 HP at the rear wheel and 100 ft/lbs of torque. The suspension has a lot of settings and you have to dial it in properly. I disagree about the seat b/c it´s very comfortable. I routinely do 300-500 mile days without issue. The saddlebags are great and I put the 2 inch taller windshield on and I get very little wind buffeting. It´s not a full fairing but it does the job well and isn´t big and heavy. The bike has 5.9 inches of ground clearance and a 28 degree rake for a 34 degree lean angle. Not too shabby and it handles quite nicely. I never cared for the front brake´s squishyness although it did stop well (dual disc and 4 pot calipers). I replaced the master cylinder last year with a later Harley master cylinder which got rid of the squishy feeling. That was the only problem I had. I just returned from 2 years in Central America on assignment and did over 12,000 miles down there in some pretty hot weather and crummy roads and the T Sport never failed me. Practically everybody I ever talked to that knows about this model comments what a great bike it is and so did the motorcycle magazines when they reviewed the bike between 2001-2003 so I don´t know how to explain these anomalies this gentleman had. We are happily riding in Southern California now and have a big trip planned for this summer.
