´68-69 Sportster gage bracket

Anybody mounted a ´68-69 Sportster Gage bracket on an ´04 or newer EVO Sportster? The aft handlebar bracket bolts are the same spacing diameter but I want to raise bracket higher and use wider spaced forward bolts.Any ideas or experience out there?
