From as objective a standpoint as possible: Assuming equal miles, and looking at the mechanical reliability as well as power, torque, etc., which is the bike to own: 2001 996s or 2004 749s?

Also, can anybody address the flaking rocker arm issue which the 996 is/was notorious for? Thanks for any info anybody can impart.
