I drove a 308 GT Ferrari once. It was awful in town. The clutch was unbearable. Once out of town and into the twistys, it was the greatest performance car I´ve ever driven. My Ducati 996 has the exact italian character. In the mountains, it is a slot car on rails. Stay light in the seat, ride the balls of your feet, roll left and right around the tank, and let her rip. This is a race bike with some afterthought plastic mirrors and lights. It is all business as exemplified by it´s no nonsense foam mounted gauge cluster. You also have the best rolling Italian art in your garage since the Mona Lisa!
