Hey Y´all, I just got my 2004 Ducati 749D yesterday and it´s sweet! It only had 1300 miles when I bought it. Two days and i´ve already done about 200 miles! The radical position is a little different that what I´m used to and I can feel it in my back and wrists. The power is amazing!! I love the grunt of the L twin motor. It feels so much better to me than all of the Japanese sport bikes that I have rode. You feel like you have a real machine under you! It´s a little heavier that the Jap bikes but I have always ridden old triumphs and harleys and the 749 engine has a feel that I can somehow relate to and it handles like a dream! It´s extremely flickable in the twisties.. I think that it is a important to buy a bike that will keep it´s value and be worth something if you should ever have to part with it and I´m pretty sure that the Ducati 749 will be worth something in the future. I also have a 65´ Triumph custom and a 91´ Harley Electra Glide full dresser that my dad just gave me. The 749 completes my collection... Well.. For now!! Keep the rubber to the road. Trae Buckner |
