Hi everyone, Just a hi and a little blurb about my entry into the Ducati Dark club......;-) Simple story, always wanted a Ducati 749/999 but couldn’t really justify the cost. I suppose the ultimate dream would be throwing a leg over a 749r/999r. I’ve owned other sportbikes over the years, raced a little motocross a few 1000 years ago too……About 6 weeks ago I stooped by the Ducati dealership and there, front-center, was a used 2006 749 Dark with a total of 18 miles. The sticker said ‘reduced again’ and now displayed a price $10,500. The story was something about the owner being somewhat new to biking and after a few short rides decided that perhaps something ‘different’ would be a better choice. I drove by once every week for 6 weeks and the Ducati was still sitting in the front window. I drove by Monday and decided if the Duc was still there I would make a counter offer. If was still sitting in the Window so yesterday, I stooped in, made a counter offer ($10,000 out the door…not one penny more) ........the dealer called the owner and the owner agreed. I ride home what is really a NEW 2006 749 Dark later today...... And today is sunny, dry and somewhat warm considering the past 2 months have been wet, snowy and COLD. I’m excited to have something fun to ride again.....;-) |
