I have always used fully synthetic two stroke oil in my RS. The power valve was cleaned around 8-900 miles ago and it´s started clogging already – the aprilia dealer suggested it should last between 2-4000 miles before needing cleaning. I don´t ride it full throttle all the time but I´m not riding with it at 3 thousand all day. Every trip gets the revs up to 11 thousand at least once; do you have to ride it like an %!¤-hole to stop it clogging; could the power valve be faulty? Could riding it with a clogged power valve have damaged it in anyway? Took it on motorway for a couple of miles with the needle between 9 & 10 thousand but if anything it made it worse. At the moment it performs like my old yamaha tzr 50 but if you force it up to the power band (takes ages in present condition) it will force the valve open and it will perform almost like it would normally. The throttle is like an on/off switch with a long delay feature. The bike is rideable but I´m not riding it until it goes in for power valve cleaning tomorrow, trust me it will be 15 miles of hell with white van man able to out accelerate a 33 bhp (more like 5) rs125. If anyone has any suggestions I´d be glad to hear them. Thanks.
