I was fortunate to find a low mileage R69S here in Asheville. By 1969 the company was focused on the US model, and the R75/5 which was introduced that year. There was little demand for the Earls Fork bikes as they were considered old fashioned. As a result if someone wanted one it was hand built and I have heard that only 30 (or so) of them were produced that year. If anyone can add to this discussion please do so... The ยด69 models had a few one year only features, such as reflectors on headlight ears and rear fenders, as well as a cirulars light on the headlight shell which was the charge indicator. The former charge indicator became the high beam indicator. I have been riding these bike for 50 years, starting with a 19567 R69 when I was a teenager |
