Hey folks, this old biker is back after 16 years with no bike. Now that my sons are grown I got this 1994 GS 500E to take back and forth to work, run errands, have fun and such, and save some gas. Well, after shopping around I got this bike for $1200 with Haynes manual, matching helmet and gloves, and all I had to do to the bike is oil the chain and put some water in the battery. This bike is sweet, I´m getting 63 mpg so far, and it´s quick and agile. I gotta tell you, after not riding for almost a generation I´m not used to a parallel twin running like this. Plenty of power. 100 is no problem, it shoots up to 80 or 90, not that I need it. Better still, because I´m riding my bike to work 4 months/year or so, my car insurance is coming down almost as much as my bike insurance costs with fire/theft/vandalism and only a $50 deductible, sweet! This bike is everything I wanted it to be. All it could use is maybe a small windshield and an air horn. I want this thing to sound like an 18 wheeler when I hit the horn!
