Sudden Drop in Speed

Quite recently my Majesty 250 ´00 went from a normal cruise speed of 62mph(98kph)approx. down to 50mph (80kph)without any obvious reason and it seems it will drop further if no intervention occurs. Mechanical Bike care at a Garage is very costly over here in Ireland , so I thought I might ask if someone might have an idea as to the problem first.
