I had a similar issue after bringing minne to a shop. At one point when filling a very empty gas tank, I realized that teh tank had a lot of play. I discovered that the front guides on the inside under teh tank were sitting on top of the rubber mounts. I had to remove the rear gas tank bolt, slide teh tank back (very easy to do when empty) and place it on teh mounts correctly. I bolted it back up, filled and drove away. It took less than 5 minutes right at teh pump with a wrenh from the toolkit.

Good luck.
