Hello! I´ve got a 72 R75/5 which has damaged carb bodies. I´m told that the pins were over-tightened by a previous owner to the point of boring into the carb bodies, making it impossible to prevent it from running rich. I´m getting ready to try & get this bike going this summer and am wondering what years and models used the same carbs as the 75/5. For instance, would carbs off any year R75/5 match? How about a 1976 R90/6? And should I be looking for just a couple of bodies, or is it too much work for the price difference of replacing the whole carbs? The carbs on the bike are the stock bings. And finally, one search I did came up with another brand of carb for sale which promised that they´d be less problematic and deliver higher performance than the Bings, but also that they aren´t legal in California. I´m in Texas, so that´s not necessarily a problem, but I´m a little wary of getting into aftermarket stuff. Any information or suggestions - opinions or real knowledge - would be appreciated! |
