I´m going to answer as a curent owner rather that by year model. My bike is an ´04 R1200CL with just a few thousand miles since new. I put more than 100K on a
R/6 900 ands feel as though I know the bike pretty well. The new one is a joy to ride on the open road but much less resposive than it´s little brother. The 1200 is head and shoulders above all the rest when it comes to "two up" at 70mph
