starter / electrical problem

I put a new primary case on my 94 Fatboy and since then I´m unable to start the bike. If I go directly to the starter from the battery and bypass the solenoid then it will start. The funny thing is that after I do this the bike will start 2-4 times and then it just starts clicking. I can repeat the process with the same results. Any suggestions. I´ve doubled check all connection and they all look good.
