| hi ive just recently bought a r1100 95 model gs and the unscrupilous bloke who sold me the bike didnt worn me of the fact that my gearbox is having its midlife crisis 73000 miles and im at the stage of stripping it down to check warn parts and replace them . ive looked into uograding to the m97 box but was told id have to change the final drive from my m95 box to compensate for the ratio difference. the other method is to get the gears undercut and fit the roller bearings from the m97 box allso use a spacer on the end of the cluster. i havnt been in the box yet so i dont know what nitmares im going to come across. if this subject has been coverd a million times before i apogise as i only found a link not the full site. ( oh yes ive been on other sites and they seem to have a pekking order) anyway if there is any one who has done a simalair opperation and can add any tips or links to info pictures etc. i thankyou in advance. cheers gsjez. |
