Owned a sand graphic purple/white model 1995 model. Did 56,000kms with service checks at 7,500 km frequency. Replaced the rear shock at 30,000 km being the only failure experienced and no problems with any other part. Great tyre wear over 26,000 km per set. Sold the faithfull GS for the worst bike that I have ever owned, guess? Yes a R1100 GS. Fitted with the compulsary jerk-o-matic engine. Life isnt always easy. Have ridden the GS from Picton?Invercargill non stop (fuel only). For the un informed that is fron the north of the South Island to the South of the South Island about 950 km. They are a great bike for all purposes and I wish that I could purchase another. Used the bike for TV filming of cycling races,marathons.try-athlons and x-treme sports events, even a equestrian cross country trial at the Auckland Airport Event New Zealand rode the bike to most events in the North and South Islands of our lovely country |
