Greetings PA Mike, I have bought my first HD bike 3 years ago and learned how to ride a bike. My ride is a 77 FXS Lowrider, shovelhead motor. Yesterday I test rode and bought a 96 Heritage Softail Classic. What a sweet ride this Heritage is. Extreamy comfortable! So smooth over bumps in the road and effortless soft touch handling. To answer your question about vibration. Yes there is vibration but only in the floorboards. It is not very bad at all. I am a handicapped female rider and can not take a lot of vibration myself. I find what vibration I feel in the floorboards is quite tolerable. And with ample floorboad space to shuffle your feet into other positions to lessen the foot pressure on the boards eases the vibration even more. I have never rode a Fatboy but my baby sister owns one. She has never mentioned anything to do with vibration with her bike. But does complain about the solid wheels on the Fatboy really lay her over riding in cross winds or the blast of wind gusts. She has a great deal of strain ehaustion compensating for this. The best advice is go test ride some private party bikes for sale in your area to get a feel for both models. Hope this reply helps some. |
