I own a 2000 Vulcan 1500 FI with 20000 miles on it. I noticed an oil leak around the rubber shoe on the front of the drive shaft. It appears to be hypoid 90. I took it into the dealer and he says the differential is shot and I need a new one ... $800 just for the part. Here´s my question. Is this a known defect? Second question. Is this $800 a reasonable number? Sounds like a lot to me!
