My husband and I are looking into a used 87 BMW trike but while viewing it the owner stated that we needed to have a bigger battery because it would not stay running unless idling high.

Is there a way to verify that the alternator is working?

We also noticed that the speedometer is not working and needed to know if this was on a recall or what the problem could be.
