I have not gone on any trips longer than 1800 km at a time on my Trophy. Only problems I had when I first bought it with 13,500 mi on it was that it wouldn´t accelerate or develop any power. This was due to a faulty coil which was replaced. This improved performance significantly but it still hesitated when I really "gunned´ it at more than 100 km/hr. This seems to have disappeared of late. When I had the 8000 km servicing done on it the chap told me oil was very filthy so maybe as new oil worked into system it cleaned something up- just guessing. You don´t mention the year of your Trophy. Mine is a 2000. Did you buy new or used? If used how well did previous owner take care of it? Not sure but I don´t think Trophy was made for extended travel on gravel roads, if at all. My guess is that the Tiger model would have been more optimum for that kind of travel. Just my opinions; there´s room for me to be wrong. |
