While stationed in Italy in 1972 in the Navy, I purchased a 1972 Bonneville($1400 bucks) with the european touring tank that was exactly like the "R" style. The V style tank was just too small. I bought it in Naples Italy from the Triumph dealer there. It was the mustard yellow with white combination. Italy is a great place to tour and just get it on, racing other bikes and cars. In Naples I used to ride on Saturday nights with a bunch of Italians riding Moto Guzzi´s and Ducati´s. I should have kept that bike. I have never seen another one like it. Now all I have are the photos. So I went and bought another Triumph(Triumph Sprint). Man, it is fast. Cool.
