Purchased my Tiger 955i 2 months ago. 2500 mlies later here is my opinion. Good build quality and finish. The bike is for riders with at least an inside leg measurement of 30 inches. Any shorter you will not touch the floor on both sides. The optional higher touring screen is a must for 70mph+ comfort. The engine encourages spirited riding and is strong all the way to 110mph+. The triple is a bit rough at slow speeds unless you keep the revs up. Gear box is smooth but the lever has quite a long movement, not good for quick shifts. Handling is great, and very stable noticeable even on uneven road surfaces. A good looker which nevers seems to stop stealing admiring glances from motorcyclists and car drivers alike. Comfortable roomy for a pillion, with comfortable grab handles on the rack. Panniers are a must for touring, but are wide and the right pannier loses a lot of room to the cut out for the exhaust. Fuel consumption is 45-48mpg and the tank gives a useable range of about 200 miles. A useable practical bike that commutes and tours superbly and offers a change to the universal japanese sports bike. Buy one. |
