I´ve had my Tiger for about 14 months and 9K miles. LOVE the bike for LD touring (have done 1100 miles/day) over both asphalt and dirt roads. Bike is too top heavy for sandwashes and mud is never any fun. The engine is FANTASTIC with a great midrange and extremely smooth throughout the rev range. Fuel economy has been from 48 to 57.5 mpg, though I have dropped 5 teeth on the rear sprocket. The handling is superb, though, again, is somewhat top heavy at low speeds. Tire life (Metzeler Tourance) adequate at about 10K but grip, both wet or dry, is excellent. Windscreen, standard and touring, are only fair with lots of buffeting at freeway speeds. The panniers also only rate "fair". The right side loses a lot of space for the exhaust and the left side leaks during a hard rain. The only other complaint is the seat, which I find uncomfortable during really long days. Would I buy it again? OH YEA! In a heartbeat!
