Hi
I have a Triumph Tiger 1995 Black which I bought used with 10000 miles on it. The previous owner had tipped the bike and the tank had started to split/crack where it attatches at the front, down under the handbar mount. He had it repaired with some sort of plastic and caulking. The repair held to last week when I started to smell gas. Finally it broke thru and I was showered with gas/petrol.

I took it to a fibreglass guy. He tried to heat weld it back together with no luck. He thinks that if he knew exactly what kind of plastic Triumph uses, he maybe able to fix it. Otherwise he suggests just replacing it.

So does anyone know where I can find out what type of plastic it is, has anyone else had this problem and is it possible to find a replacement tank used/new.
