This was my first motorcycle after having not ridden for over 15 years. I saw a silver 2002 model featured in a movie that my wife rented entitled, "How To Dump A Guy In 10 Days". I never finished the movie, going instead to the computer to research the bike. After reading several reviews of the new Triumph Bonneville, I bought one, sight unseen, in Albuquerque, NM, and rode it home the following weekend. It was love at first sight, with the classic British styling and the Goodwood green and gold color scheme. Nothing prepared me for the first look, though: the quality of fit and finish everywhere is simply the best I´ve ever seen on any motorcycle. The bike is literally perfect. The ride back to El Paso, TX, was a delight. I constantly varied the engine speed and noticed that the bike at first seemed to run very hot. It suddenly cooled down after about 50 miles, and I figure that this is when the rings seated. Handling is excellent, and you sit the bike very lightly indeed. Claimed weight is 450 pounds, and the bike always feels very nimble. About the only improvements I could wish for would be a sixth gear and factory pipes that allow a little more of that classic British sound to escape! I added the OEM grab bar and centerstand. These were purchased through the dealer network and fit perfectly, requiring no "coaxing". They are finished exactly as the bike is, and don´t look "aftermarket" at all. I can´t recommend the Triumph Bonneville T100 too highly. You´ll love it, but be prepared as it will turn heads and you´ll field lots of questions about. I also highly recommend PJ´s Triumph, ion Albuquerque, NM.
