I am considering buying a 1979 Triumph Bonneville for a beginner bike. Is this a dumb idea? The bike has about 24,000 miles on it and the guy is asking $3,400 or best offer. Other forums I have asked this question in seem to think I will spend more time working on it than riding it. What do you guys think?
