oil tank pressure

oil tank pressure

have a 76 750 bonneville. have a problem with oil not ciculating causing the oil tank to pressuize and overflow as well as engine over heating. have heard about a check valve somewhere under the tranny plate but need a tricky british tool to get at it. any other ideas?
